Purseaholic
was conceived in the summer of 2003. Our founder,
Sarah Anne Ferguson, often fed her own handbag
habit when she traveled internationally. A series
of trips over several years yielded various exquisite
handbags…which produced hundreds of compliments…which
led Ms. Ferguson to realize that she wasn't the
only handbag maven out there. So she decided to
share the wealth, and Purseaholic.com was launched
May, 2004.
Our
mission: To discover and sell
high-quality, distinctive handbags from artisans
from around the world.
Our
philosophy: To sell handbags that
are not only head-turning functional art, but
also durable everyday vessels.
Our
leadership: Sarah
Anne Ferguson, our President and Chief Purseaholic,
has worked on the Web since its inception in 1994.
She holds a Bachelor's in English language and
literature from the University of Michigan, and
a Master's in Educational Technology from Harvard
University.
